The Tara Room is a gentle, nurturing space created especially for our youngest tamariki, aged 3 months to 12 months.

Here, your baby is cared for by our long-standing team of teachers who practice primary caregiving, building strong, trusting relationships that support each child’ s sense of well-being and belonging.

Tamariki also benefit from our dedicated learning spaces, including regular access to our gym for movement, yoga, dance, and mindfulness experiences, supporting physical development and wellbeing.

The Tui Room is adjoining our Tara Room and is thoughtfully designed for our curious toddlers aged 1 to 2 years, offering a safe, nurturing environment where they can play, explore, and grow with confidence. The Morepork Room is designed for our energetic and curious Tamariki aged 2 to 3 years.

In a warm, engaging environment, our teachers follow each child’s rhythm, supporting growing independence and confidence through responsive care and play.

Music, movement and storytelling are a part of everyday routines, nurturing creativity, language, and self-expression. The Pukeko Room is designed for our adventurous 3 to 4 year olds. Here, Tamariki learn through play, with endless opportunities to explore, create, and grow in confidence. We encourage literacy skills through our ‘Letter of the Week’ and ‘Show and Tell’ sessions weekly. Storytelling, music and movement is a part of the daily Rhythm. Our experienced teaching team nurture curiosity and independence, supporting children as they begin to develop deeper friendships and a love of learning.

Children in both the Pukeko and Enquiry rooms enjoy weekly dance and drama classes that inspire imagination and self-expression, along with yoga sessions that promote social and emotional well-being through mindfulness. Regular visits to our gym and project room provide further opportunities for creativity, collaboration, and discovery. The Enquiry Room is a vibrant learning space designed for our 4- to 5-year-old tamariki. Our experienced teaching team supports children as they develop confidence, independence, and the skills needed for a successful transition to school.

Through our Set for School programme, tamariki are encouraged to develop important foundations for school readiness, including communication, problem-solving, social skills, independence, and confidence. As part of this programme, Casey the Caterpillar supports early literacy development through fun and engaging experiences that encourage a love of books, storytelling, language, and learning.

Children are supported to strengthen their literacy skills through phonological awareness, vocabulary development, listening skills, comprehension, letter and sound recognition, and early writing experiences. These learning opportunities are woven naturally into everyday play and interactions, helping tamariki become confident communicators.

The Enquiry Room provides opportunities for children to explore their interests, collaborate with others, and engage in meaningful projects that encourage creativity, critical thinking, and curiosity.
