BestStart is one of NZ's leading early childcare providers. BestStart Fendalton in Christchurch provides affordable, high quality education and award winning childcare for babies, toddlers and preschoolers.

At BestStart Fendalton, together we learn, teach and thrive. 

Here, we respect everyone for who they are. Kaiako work alongside you to understand your culture, language, and identity and learn how we can meaningfully weave this into our environment. Relationships are at the heart of what we do. When you step into our centre you and your tamariki will quickly feel like part of the whānau as we get to know you and your values.

We are located near Halgey Park, Riccarton Bush and Mona Vale - all places we regularly visit and take children to explore! We also have a great relationship with Fendalton Open Air School where we often visit with our children preparing for school.

Our Team

We are a close knit team who are very passionate about having fun with our children. We love to get outdoors in all types of weather and explore the natural environment around us. We also take part in regular professional development means we stay up to date on any new teachings to benefit children in our learning community.

What We Offer

Our Spaces

Our centre is a small, homely, renovated villa. When you visit our centre you feel cosy and at home in our indoor spaces. You will see lots of natural and wooden resources. Space for children to explore, but also have a rest if they wish. Our environment is intentionally set up with provocations and open-ended resources that encourage our tamariki to be investigators, to try new things, explore, develop their own understanding of the wider world around them, and let their creativity flow.

I strongly believe that the teachers who work in the BestStart Fendalton Nursery, are two of the best early childhood teachers I have ever come across. The skills and knowledge that they possess are second to none and they are so incredible with all the children in the nursery. They take the time needed for every child and after sitting and observing mat time, I was truly blown away by how much my daughter is learning. We absolutely love BestStart Fendalton. This daycare centre is truly amazing and ALL the staff are doing such a fantastic job I truly think they deserve to be recognised.
