The Wairua (Spirit/ambiance) in the Kereruu room speaks for itself in its harmonious space of learning. It has a great indoor-outdoor flow where ngaa Kaiako provide a wide range of daily activities that are sensory-rich, challenging, and linguistic development.

Aroha is key when developing trusting relationships with pepi and whanau. Ngaa Kaiako work with and alongside whanau to support and nurture the growth of their pepi. These roots become the firm foundation of their learning.

In the Kea room, toddler play is purposeful and exciting where children develop their communication skills and regulate their emotions as they are navigating social competency. Ngaa Kaiako support these through a wide range of fun activities that keep the interest of busy toddlers.

The Kiwi Room is a fun place to be where children are branching out, they know who they are, and know what they want. Ngaa Kaiako support and facilitate their ideas by bringing them to life. The preschoolers in the Kiwi Room are supported with emotional and social competency through wananga, developing the knowledge and skills to express themselves to communicate effectively with their peers.

Ngaa Kaiako support each tamaiti in preparing them for their transition to primary school by setting goals that reflect Pathways to Kura. As each child’s learning journey comes to an end here at BestStart Greenwood Street, we send them off with a beautiful Graduation to celebrate their accomplishments.
