BestStart Greenwood Street is an early learning centre located in Frankton, Hamilton. We provide high-quality early education and award-winning childcare to infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.

Connected by our Roots.

What matters to you, matters to us!

At BestStart Greenwood Street, we believe that our roots are something to be proud of. Our stories are begging to be told. Our lands, our marae, and our taonga are to be treasured. Our language is precious. Our traditions are beautiful. Our history belongs in our future.

Whakawhanaungatanga is an important process for us at BestStart Greenwood Street. We want to know about your roots, culture, and values. In knowing what your whanau values are and what aspirations you have for your tamaiti (child), we are able to support your tamaiti on a fun and unique learning journey where we can set collaborative aspirations and learning goals. Aroha is the essence of what can be felt and is embedded in all we do. Ngaa tamariki are welcomed with open arms and we create a learning environment where children feel that they belong. Wananga is sacred to us and we promote our Centre as a safe space to discuss, share, and learn together as we communicate the needs, learning, and care of each tamaiti from each whanau.

Our diverse community is full of rich culture and traditions and we strive to bring these together at BestStart Greenwood Street. We host regular stay-and-play sessions that invite the community and our whaanau to come and learn about play-based learning alongside our tamariki. Our centre cook provides meals for children daily and we encourage Physical Education (PE) Fridays for children to develop their physical skills and health.

Our Team

Our experienced team of teachers offer new and exciting experiences that provoke curiosity and wonder. Ngaa tamariki are supported in developing their independence and self-help skills to get ready for the next phase in their learning journey. We value our growth and personal development, upskilling and sharing our knowledge is important to us. Working as a collective and sharing our talents, strengths, and skills has set a leaderful culture within our team.

kind words from our parents

Parent

Great newsletter!! Seriously, Jackson LOVES going to kindy every morning and the excursions coming up he will be so excited about. Good work team!

Parent

When we leave home in the mornings my son claps and smiles all the way to the centre. He has formed an attachment with all staff and when I pick him up at night he is upset to leave. He is developing a lot faster since he has started at the centre and we can see a change in him on days he has been at the centre. The staff are so lovely and friendly – would definitely recommend the centre to anyone looking for childcare.

Grandparent

My mokopuna and I feel welcome and the team do the best in all they do when it comes to the tamariki.

Parent

Excellent service, lovely staff right down to the van drivers. I wouldn't choose any other place. It's really rewarding when my daughter comes home and her response is "my day was cool mum".
