BestStart Huntington on Borman Road provides quality education and care for children aged between 3 months to 5 years old in a beautiful new centre with the latest resources designed to inspire young minds.

Seekers Within Our Surroundings

Our environment at BestStart Huntington encompasses the diverse cultures that are reflected in our centre. We value and are responsive to parent and family aspirations and will always seek to develop a strong understanding to ensure that we are respectful in the ways in which we practice those things that are of cultural significance to our families.

Our vision is ‘seekers within our surroundings’ which is reflected in our regular excursions that we plan aligning with the individual interests of our children. Within our centre environment our indoor and outdoor spaces are built to support the learning and development of every age group – Infants, Toddlers and Preschoolers. Each room is equipped with high quality, focused resources designed to spark curious minds. We’re committed to promoting Hauora (Wellbeing) within our centres for our tamariki, families and staff. Our teachers ensure that children engage in physical activity as part of their everyday learning experiences, and provide healthy food, so that children receive the nourishment they need.

At BestStart Huntington we strive to provide opportunities to develop our children’s independence and leadership within their surroundings. This is done by providing an environment that empowers children to have a voice and take ownership of their learning journey. Your child’s learning journey and milestones will be captured and shared through one-on-one communication and our online learning portfolios on Storypark. This is a great way to keep up to date with what your child is learning while at the centre.

Our team also live the vision of seekers within our surroundings in relation to their ongoing commitment to their own teaching journey. Continuous reflection and development is embraced and the strengths of our team are utilised to support the growth of others.

We offer BestStart’s Be School Ready initiative for our preschool children, which is incorporated into everyday practice, assisting with the next step in their learning journey. The initiative encourages children to use their developing self-help skills and provides a range of opportunities to extend their independence. We have a commitment to utilising our local community to develop and grow children.

I was very excited to bring my baby back to BestStart Huntington, there is always just a little extra they learn from the qualified teachers. And we were excited to show the teachers how Selene has grown in the short period of time. She is really enjoying it, I notice that she is very tired at night time. She must be very busy during the day at nursery. Its been so much easier to get her into routine. The lockdown was fun, It was the first time in a very long time that all of us are spending so much time together. We enjoyed each other. I just want to thank all of you from BestStart for how great you are with Selene and myself, we are very happy to be enrolled at your centre.

My daughters are always happy to go to school and full of smiles when I pick them up. Since joining my daughters have developed in so many ways. They are more confident and balanced and look forward to going to school. Very grateful for the rich learning environment in the Maui Room where my eldest is and it's a fun and bright environment and I think it provides the backdrop for more effective learning. My child enjoys going to school and learning new topics and going on exciting trips. My youngest daughter has bloomed at Rongo Room. She is growing into a strong independent, free-thinking child. We put much of this down to the care and attention she has received at BestStart Huntington. They really care and truly want the best for your child!
