At BestStart Huntsbury, we believe children learn best through love, adventure and meaningful experiences. Located at the foot of Huntsbury Hill and close to the Ōpāwaho River, our purpose-built centre embraces the unique environment around us, encouraging children to explore, discover and develop the confidence, curiosity and resilience they need to thrive.

Our philosophy is built on three key foundations: belonging, confidence and exploration. We create a safe and nurturing environment where every child feels valued and supported to learn in their own way. Through meaningful play, daily rituals, shared kai times and strong partnerships with families, children develop independence, resilience and the social and emotional skills they need to become Set for School.

Our strong community connections provide rich learning opportunities beyond the centre gates. Regular visits to local schools, parks and community spaces, along with special events and transition evenings for families, help children build confidence, strengthen their sense of belonging and enjoy a positive transition both through our centre and into primary school.
