Discover our unique rooms

BestStart Huntsbury is a modern, purpose-built childcare centre with five classrooms, each designed around the different ages and stages of your child's early learning journey. Our bright, welcoming spaces give children room to play, explore their interests and build confidence.

Our large outdoor playgrounds are a favourite for active play, with exciting bike tracks and views of the cars and trucks passing by. Indoors, children have inviting spaces and resources designed to spark curiosity, creativity and exploration.

Explore our classrooms below to discover more about each space and what your child can enjoy at BestStart Huntsbury.

The Riverlaw Learning Space (3 months - 1.5 years old)

Riverlaw is a calm, nurturing space designed especially for babies, where your child can feel safe and comfortable as they begin exploring the world around them. Our teachers take the time to get to know each baby and follow their individual pace and routines, helping them feel secure and settled throughout their day.

  • A safe space to explore: A carefully prepared environment gives babies the freedom to discover, play and develop new skills at their own pace.
  • Start with Heart: Through play and everyday experiences, babies are supported to develop important early skills and reach developmental milestones while building confidence.
  • Individual care and routines: Teachers get to know your baby's unique needs and routines, helping them feel comfortable, understood and cared for while they're away from home.

Riverlaw provides a gentle start to early learning, where your baby can build trusting relationships and confidently discover something new each day.

The Ōpāwaho Learning Space (1 - 2 years old)

The Ōpāwaho Learning Space is designed for busy, curious toddlers who are discovering more about the world every day. With plenty of opportunities to explore, play and try new things, children are supported by caring teachers who follow their individual routines and help them grow in confidence and independence.

  • Growing independence: Children are encouraged to try things for themselves, make choices and build confidence as their abilities develop.
  • Individual routines: Teachers get to know each child's needs and routines, providing consistency and support as they become more independent.

The Ōpāwaho Learning Space gives toddlers the freedom to be curious, active and adventurous while knowing their teachers are there to support them every step of the way

The Rāpaki Learning Space (2 - 3.5 years old)

Rāpaki is a fun, hands-on space where children can learn through play, explore their interests and build confidence as they become more independent. With plenty of opportunities to get creative, experiment and try new things, children can learn at their own pace in a supportive environment.

Rāpaki gives children the freedom to explore, experiment and have fun while building the skills and confidence they need as they grow.

The Huntsbury Learning Space (3 - 4.5 years old)

The Huntsbury Learning Space is a place for curious minds, where children can ask questions, explore how things work and discover new ideas through play. Our teachers encourage children to follow their interests, learn alongside their friends and build confidence as they become increasingly independent.

  • Curiosity encouraged: Children are supported to ask questions, investigate how things work and find out more about the world around them.
  • Learning together: Playing and discovering alongside peers helps children develop communication, cooperation and confidence.
  • Building towards school: As children approach school age, our Set for School programme supports the development of early literacy, numeracy, social and independence skills.

Huntsbury gives children the space and encouragement to be curious, ask questions and discover where their interests can take them as they prepare for their next stage of learning.

The Centaurus Learning Space (4 - 6 years old)

The Centaurus Learning Space supports children as they prepare for their next big adventure — starting school. Children are encouraged to become more independent, take responsibility for themselves and build the social skills and confidence they need for a positive transition to primary school.

  • Set for School: Our programme supports early literacy, numeracy, social and practical skills, helping children feel confident and ready for school.
  • Growing independence: Children have opportunities to practise self-help skills, make choices and take responsibility for themselves as they prepare for a new level of independence.
  • School connections: Regular excursions to local schools help children become familiar with the school environment and feel more comfortable about their transition.

Centaurus gives children the confidence, independence and skills they need to take their next step with excitement and a strong sense of readiness.
