Nurturing Kaikohe's Future Leaders
At BestStart Kaikohe, we have a big emphasis on unlocking the leadership potential in all our tamariki. We understand that everyone can be a leader in their own way, no matter what stage of their learning journey they are at. We encourage our tamariki to be themselves while being mindful of the rules and boundaries that are there to keep everyone safe and happy.
We facilitate leadership growth by allowing tamariki to take responsibility for their own learning, fostering and encouraging tuakana-teina relationships, and encouraging tamariki to care for our local communities and environment. Local trips, and visitors to the Centre, allow our tamariki to feel a genuine sense of belonging within our small community and a true connection to Kaikohe as their hometown. This helps develop and grow pride in where they come from, which we believe is so important, as we are working with a future generation of leaders in Kaikohe!
