At BestStart Manukau, our learning spaces are thoughtfully designed to inspire curiosity, creativity and growth at every stage of your child’s journey. Each room reflects our local curriculum and is named after a native bird—Kotare, Kiwi and Kotuku—symbolising the unique stages of learning and development.
From our nurturing Kotare Room for infants to our vibrant Kotuku Room for preschoolers, every space is safe, welcoming and filled with engaging experiences that encourage tamariki to explore, play and learn. Our environments seamlessly connect indoor and outdoor learning, helping children build confidence, independence and a lifelong love of learning.
Kotare Room (Under 2's)
Kiwi Room (2-3.5 yrs)
In the Kiwi Room, children continue their learning journey in a playful and stimulating environment. With hands-on science, open-ended resources and opportunities to explore nature and culture, tamariki develop curiosity, creativity and confidence, while strong relationships with kaiako and whānau support their growth every step of the way.
Kotuku Room(3.5-5 yrs)
Our Kotuku Room prepares tamariki for school in a dynamic, nature-rich environment. Children explore, investigate and learn through hands-on experiences, developing independence, problem-solving and social skills. With our Set for School programme and strong connections to primary schools, children are supported to become confident, capable learners.
