Aroha is reflected throughout our practice in the Kotare room. Our babies are loved and nurtured in a natural and peaceful environment, where they are sensitively supported by our uniquely qualified and highly experienced staff. We provide the utmost care to our Pepe.

We offer an unhurried curriculum for our busy babies, allowing them time to explore and discover at their own pace. We work closely with families to make the transition to centre life a smooth and joyful experience, creating strong bonds and a setting that feels like family. We believe in building relationships with our babies, families, and community through shared experiences and collaboration, which fosters a sense of belonging, along with respect, safety, and love. We provide a nurturing place for your child to develop both mind and body on a daily basis.

Our babies enjoy exploring heuristic baskets. These open-ended play opportunities allow children to explore, learn, and develop in a completely natural way. Natural resources create a safe and homely space for them to learn and grow. Our Pepe have the freedom to explore and unfold naturally. Babies feel very safe and secure in this beautiful environment. Our covered outdoor area offers children a safe and natural space to explore.

Our Kiwi room features dedicated staff working in partnership with families and children to develop programmes that engage and support the development of every child. We pride ourselves on celebrating children’s milestones, learning journeys, and cultural heritage.

We take pride in providing an environment that is welcoming, aesthetically pleasing, culturally representative of the community, embraces nature, and is filled with purposeful materials that invite learning. It truly acts as the "third teacher." We provide open-ended resources, such as loose parts, to add complexity to play. Children enjoy these unique resources, which provide stimulation and support creativity, allowing them to extend their ideas and questions.

Our Kiwi room children love doing science experiments. We provide an area where they can explore science, and our little scientists are eager to learn about the world around them. At this curious stage of life, children want to know everything about nature, technology, space, transport, and much more. Our amazing team of trained and qualified teachers facilitates a range of hands-on science experiences and experiments, encouraging tamariki to explore the world around them.

We believe in instilling a love for learning in our children. Our programme is designed to nurture this love. Our highly skilled teachers support children by providing "scaffolding" for learning. Teachers engage in play, watch for "teachable moments", and are ready to help children develop new skills that build on existing ones.

The relationship is what matters most to us. We believe in working as whānau and take pride in having strong relationships with our children, whānau, and the wider community. Our strong community involvement is what makes us the centre of choice. We have regular visits from our local librarian, emergency services, rest home visits, participation in physical education programmes, and parent evenings. We offer a "Be School Ready" initiative that specialises in preparing children for school life, covering literacy skills, numeracy, understanding the world, creativity, arts and music, sharing and relating to others, and physical and gross motor skills. We have received feedback from our families that this initiative ensures smoother transitions to school for our graduating preschoolers.

This room is dedicated to our Set for School programme. We have strong links to primary schools and support children to become confident learners, ensuring seamless transitions to our local primary schools.

We value children’s individuality and their diverse cultural backgrounds. We believe children are active learners who learn best through role modelling, investigation, and observation. The Kotuku Room provides children the freedom to explore and unfold naturally, as nature intended, in a secure environment that allows them to develop into confident, sociable, and competent young children, ready for the challenges of life.

We offer children natural resources that help them develop an appreciation and understanding of the natural world, including vegetable gardens, flower beds, plants, and fruit trees. We believe that natural resources are gifts from Papa-tū-ā-nuku (Mother Earth). We provide hands-on experiences with natural materials, which stimulate creativity and problem-solving skills. We have created an inclusive and inviting space for children.

We strive to meet the aspirations of our parents. Our passionate and dedicated teachers are professionally trained to design the programme to meet the needs of all children.

Children are given the freedom to participate in a programme that is safe and allows them to explore their interests and challenge themselves. We also integrate numeracy and literacy skills through intentional teaching strategies to ensure children are well prepared for school. We believe parents play a vital role in the development of their children and welcome a collaborative partnership with all families.
