BestStart Manuroa Road

Beststart Manuroa Road is located in Takanini just off the motorway. It is a short walk across the road to the train station which has plenty of parking available. We welcome children aged 3 months to 6 years. We have a range of childcare options, sessions, short days and full 11 hour days, to best meet the needs of your family.

We are an established purpose-built quality childcare centre well known in our Community. Set in a beautiful natural environment we have spacious playrooms, separate dining rooms and amazing sized playgrounds.

Caring for your baby
Our Nursery teachers are passionate about caring for infants and have a natural affinity for babies. They recognise infants need for warmth, affection and consistent care. We have creative and stimulating environments to invite exploration, and support with a staff ratio of one teacher to four babies to maintain a high level of quality.

Toddlers
We recognise that toddlers have unique needs. To meet these needs we have spacious indoor and outdoor environments that support toddler’s needs for solitary play as well as group activities. Our teachers believe in developing warm and responsive attachments and provide a programme to spark curiousity and exploration.

Preschool
We provide a  programme and environment designed to allow your child to initiate problem-solving, develop curiousity and learn through their interests. Our teachers support children to listen to others points of view and to comunicate their own thoughts, theories and ideas.

We are aware of the skills and capabilities that children need to have to transition successfully to school and these are integrated into the programme. Self help and self care skills alongside social competence, feature as a strength in our curriculum.

Teaching team
We have a team of  fantastic educators who are passionate about building quality teaching and learning for your children. Many of our teachers have been teaching here for more than 10 years. Alongside English and te reo Māori, we have teachers fluent in Tongan, Hindi, Mandarin and Punjabi.

Meals
We follow the Healthy Heart programme and serve hot meals each day, formulated to meet the nutritional needs of growing children. For morning and afternoon tea, snacks include a variety of sandwiches, and fresh fresh fruit and vegetables. Children have milk with their snack and water is available throughout the day.

Settling visits.
When you enrol your child we encourage settling visits over a week or two depending on need. These can be with parents or whānau. We wish to make your child’s transtion an enjoyable experience for you and your child. These visits give an opportunity to develop relationships between the child, family and teachers.
