Discover our unique rooms

At BestStart Montessori The Children’s House, we create a supportive, enriching environment where tamariki develop confidence, independence, and a love for learning.

Ruma Iti2 year olds

At BestStart Montessori The Children’s House, our introductory toddler class room Ruma Iti focus on the aspect termed Practical Life, which is a four-category process in where children can explore education at their own pace. The four aspects of practical life in Montessori are care of the self, care of the environment, grace and courtesy, and control of movement. In understanding how each of these categories brings a holistic learning approach for the child, our environment is set up for children to achieve independence, is one of the foundational goals for Montessori teaching. Montessori activities help toddlers gain confidence and self-reliance through hands-on learning.

Ruma Nui3-6 year olds

Our Ruma Nui 3–6-year class room consists of children of mixed ages. Our children learn from each other with older children being role models for younger children. Each child learns to cooperate with children of different ages, respect and celebrate each other’s efforts, and take care of themselves, others, and their environment.

The classroom becomes a thriving community of learners where children are treated with respect and dignity and where they learn to treat others with respect and dignity.
Our environment contains specially designed, hands-on materials that invite children to engage in learning activities of their own individual choice.

Under the guidance of our Montessori trained teacher, children in a Montessori classroom learn by making discoveries and cultivating concentration, motivation, self-discipline, and a love of learning.
