BestStart Onehunga celebrated Kirihimete with whānau, performances, and shared kai — a joyful day full of connection, culture, and Christmas cheer.
December was filled with joy, laughter, and a beautiful sense of togetherness here at BestStart Onehunga, as we gathered for our annual Christmas Whānau Hui.
It was a truly special day where our tamariki, their whānau, and kaiako came together to celebrate the festive season in the spirit of community and connection.
Families were invited to bring a plate to share, and the variety of delicious food reflected the diverse and vibrant cultures within our centre. From sweet treats to savoury delights, there was something for everyone to enjoy.
One of the highlights of the day was the children’s performance. Our tamariki had been practising their dances with excitement and enthusiasm, and it was a joy to see them up on stage, smiling proudly as they performed for their whānau.
Throughout the hui, there were fun activities for everyone to get involved in. From crafts to games, we loved seeing families engaging, playing, and creating memories together. It was a wonderful reminder of the strong relationships that are nurtured within our centre community.
A huge thank you to all the families who came along, contributed food, and supported the event with such warmth and generosity. It was a beautiful way to end the year and head into the holiday season feeling connected and celebrated.
