At BestStart Porchester Road, we foster a nurturing environment for all tamariki, kaiako and whānau, creating a space where we can grow and thrive together. We celebrate each child’s individuality and encourage kindness, confidence and independence in a supportive environment where children can feel safe to learn, explore, discover and socialise.

Located in Randwick Park, our centre offers six thoughtfully designed classrooms that support learning through play and cater to the diverse needs, interests and abilities of our tamariki. Our learning environments, both indoor and outdoor, provide opportunities for children to explore, experiment, make their own decisions and develop important skills for the future.

Our dedicated teachers create engaging experiences that encourage children to follow their interests, build positive relationships and develop a love of learning. Through play and everyday experiences, tamariki are supported to develop confidence, independence and the skills they need as they grow and prepare for their transition to primary school.

Our Start with Heart programme focuses on supporting our infants during their important early years. We focus on building meaningful relationships with tamariki to support them to learn and grow. We follow home routines, get to know what is important to each individual family and help our tamariki to develop confidence, social skills, communication and a love for learning.

Our Set for School programme sets our tamariki up with the skills required to transition successfully into primary school and formal learning. The kaiako create activities for the tamariki to explore that help them to develop self-help skills, numeracy and literacy skills, along with confidence and resilience.
