At BestStart Porchester Road, we provide an environment for our little busy bees to learn, explore, discover, and socialize.

Kakano Room (3 months - 2 yrs old): This is a calm and relaxing place where our young busy bees enjoy a strong attachment and bonding with their primary care giver. Our teachers take pride in providing an environment for our infants where each child is special, giving them the time and space to develop at their own pace.

For our older busy bees (2 - 6 yrs old), the learning spaces is very unique. We have 5 different rooms, each space has been carefully thought out and provide resources that engage, inspire as well as extends on the interests of our tamariki. Literacy and numeracy are interwoven in all the learning experiences happening in the rooms. Children enjoy reading, practicing their writing skills with a room full of puzzles and books. This space provides calmness and tranquillity to the busy lives of our tamariki. In our family fantasy playroom, children have ample amount of time, space and resources to explore and learn using their imagination. Our children have the opportunity to explore, refine and communicate ideas as they connect thinking, imagination, senses and feelings in our construction room. Our children are encouraged to make their own decisions while they play, imagine, invent and experiment.

We also have a Whare kai, where all our children eat all their meals together, a quiet space that welcomes you with the sounds of serene music. This room also keeps all our children’s belongings, making the process of dropping off and picking up your children smooth. We also have all our children’s amazing learning journeys here to admire.

The unique configuration of our rooms along with our teachers’ efforts to grow a love for reading and writing, our children are very confident in themselves and have great self-esteem when they leave us to join the primary school. We will work in partnership with you and your whanau to explore the possibilities for your children within our unique centre.
