BestStart Powells Road Kindy
BestStart Powells Road Kindy is an early learning centre in Fairfield Downs, Hamilton. We provide award-winning childcare and early education for tamariki aged 2 - 5 years old between 8:00am to 5:00pm and are open all year round.
Home of the Brave!
At BestStart Powells Road Kindy, tamariki and whaanau are at the heart of everything we do. We refer to our centre as "The Home of the Brave" and we provide a learning environment where your tamariki will grow, learn, and play as we support their independence, development and cultural roots. We are proud to be part of Kahui Ako, Te Pae Here, fostering strong connections with local schools and engaging in professional learning development to ensure the best transitions and learning experiences for our tamariki.
Our teaching philosophy weaves together a bi-cultural curriculum inspired by atua Maaori and we foster a whaanau-orientated environment, making our space a true home away from home. Our centre cook provides fresh, healthy meals each day and we work alongside families through frequent, open communication.
Our Set for School program ensures that families know what to expect for their tamariki's transition to the next phase of their learning journey. Through a play-based curriculum, our programme seamlessly integrates learning that aligns with the NZ school curriculum, including literacy, maths, and science. Our BestStart environments are thoughtfully arranged to foster greater independence and support tamariki in developing essential self-help and socio-emotional skills needed for school readiness.
