Discover our unique rooms

We have four classrooms each intentionally set up for the developmental needs of each age group.

PepeUnder 2's

The nursery room embodies Rangimarie, a sense of peacefulness that helps create a calm and soothing environment for the tamariki. This tranquil atmosphere ensures that each child feels secure and at ease, laying a foundation for positive growth and development.

Our team of kaiako fosters Manaakitanga, nurturing every child with care and respect. We strive to build strong relationships with both the tamariki and their whānau, creating a supportive space where everyone feels valued and connected.

Exploration, or Whakatomene, is at the heart of our approach. We encourage children to explore their surroundings, discover new interests, and engage with the world around them. Through hands-on learning and play, we support their natural curiosity and creativity.

Lastly, we cultivate Whanamanwa, building confidence in each child. We believe in empowering tamariki to be self-assured and capable, helping them develop the resilience and independence they will carry with them throughout their lives.

Nohi Nohi2 years old

In the preschool room for our two-year-olds, Whakakakau emphasizes the importance of communication. We create an environment where tamariki feel comfortable expressing themselves verbally and non-verbally. Through interactive activities and meaningful conversations, we nurture their language development and social skills.

Whanaungatanga, or relationships, is central to our approach. We prioritize building strong connections among children, as well as between children and kaiako. By fostering a sense of belonging and community, we help tamariki develop trust and security in their interactions with others.

We also focus on Mana motuhake, which is about self-awareness. Our curriculum encourages children to recognize and celebrate their individual strengths and identities. By supporting their journey of self-discovery, we empower tamariki to develop a healthy sense of self-esteem and confidence in their abilities.

Awatea3 years old

In the Awatea room for our three-year-olds, we emphasize Whakaute, or respect, as a fundamental value in our interactions. We teach tamariki to show respect for themselves, others, and their environment, fostering a culture of kindness and empathy. This foundation helps build strong relationships and encourages positive social behaviors.

Mataoa, or courage, is another key aspect of our curriculum. We encourage children to step outside their comfort zones, try new things, and express their ideas with confidence. By cultivating a brave spirit, we empower tamariki to face challenges and embrace learning opportunities with enthusiasm.

Additionally, we focus on Mohiotanga, which is about developing understanding. Through hands-on experiences and guided exploration, we support tamariki in making sense of the world around them. This process encourages critical thinking and problem-solving, helping children to form meaningful connections with their learning and develop a deeper understanding of their surroundings.

Kaumatua4 years and up

In the Kaumatua classroom for our oldest children, we emphasize Takohanga, or responsibility, as a core value. We encourage tamariki to take ownership of their actions and choices, fostering a sense of accountability. This principle helps children understand the impact of their behavior on themselves and others, preparing them for future challenges.

Whaiaro, or self-identity, is also a significant focus in our curriculum. We support tamariki in exploring and celebrating their unique identities, cultures, and backgrounds. By promoting self-awareness and appreciation for diversity, we help children develop a strong sense of who they are and confidence in their individuality.

Leadership, or Haututanga, is cultivated in our classroom as well. We provide opportunities for tamariki to take on leadership roles and guide their peers. This not only enhances their confidence but also teaches essential skills such as collaboration, communication, and decision-making. By fostering a spirit of leadership, we prepare our tamariki to be active and engaged members of their communities.
