Discover our unique rooms

At BestStart Pukekohe West, each of our learning spaces is carefully designed to support tamariki at every stage of their early learning journey. From our calm and nurturing Infants area to our inquisitive Toddlers’ Puriri spaces, and our engaging Kauri and Kahikatea rooms for 3–5 year-olds, every environment encourages exploration, independence, and growth. With age-appropriate resources, supportive teachers, and strong whānau connections, our centres provide a safe, joyful, and stimulating place where tamariki can learn, play, and thrive.

Kanuka and Ti Kauka(3 months - 2 years old)

Nestled at the back of our building, our environment provides a light, bright, calm and secure space for our under 2s. This is where routines, care moments and slow, calm learning happen at the child’s pace.

We believe in strong relationships with whānau to help us provide the best possible care for our tamariki.

Our Infants area offers a safe and joyful environment for exploration and learning. It is more than just a room. It is a place where curiosity is nurtured, meaningful connections are made, and every moment supports early development through play-based experiences.

Puriri(2 - 3 years old)

Our Puriri learning spaces provide opportunities for our most inquisitive age group to learn, grow, express and explore. Our tamariki are encouraged to make choices, explore, and develop self-help skills in a safe and engaging environment.

With age-appropriate resources, caring guidance from teachers, and plenty of opportunities for hands-on discovery, toddlers learn to express themselves, build relationships, and take important first steps towards independence.

Kauri and Kahikatea (3-4 years old) (4-5 years old)

Our Kauri and Kahikatea learning spaces provide an extension of our other learning areas while taking self-help skills and growing minds to new levels. They support our 2 to 5 year olds with their transition to the next stage of their learning journey at school.

Our learning spaces are designed for each age group and are full of resources and fun. Our teams strongly believe that the environment fosters each child’s individual learning journey, encourages whānau engagement, and builds our understanding of the needs of our local community, which over time helps shape our learning environment.
