BestStart Riccarton Park is a community-focused early learning centre in the heart of the Riccarton Park subdivision, just off Yaldhurst Road, where strong relationships are at the centre of everything we do. Our welcoming environment gives tamariki a place where they feel known, supported and confident to be themselves, while whānau can feel reassured knowing their child is cared for by a team who genuinely get to know them.

Our connection with the local community is an important part of life at BestStart Riccarton Park. Tamariki enjoy regular excursions to the nearby park, where they can explore, enjoy active play and experience learning beyond the centre. We also enjoy special visits to watch the Riccarton Races, creating opportunities for children to discover and connect with the community around them.

At BestStart Riccarton Park, we offer:

• Start with Heart: Our youngest tamariki experience responsive, nurturing care that follows their individual needs and routines, helping them build secure relationships and feel confident as they begin their early learning journey.
• Set for School: Our older tamariki are supported to develop the independence, confidence, social skills and early learning foundations they need to feel ready for their transition to school.
• Convenient for busy families: Located just off Yaldhurst Road and open from 7am–5:30pm, we make drop-off and pick-up easier for working families. Meals are included, giving you one less thing to organise each day.
• Learning beyond the centre: Regular excursions and local experiences give tamariki opportunities to explore their community, build confidence and develop a sense of connection to the world around them.
• Strong whānau partnerships: Open communication and thoughtful transitions help families feel supported from their first day, while allowing us to understand and respond to what makes their child unique.
