BestStart Roydvale
BestStart Roydvale provides quality childcare and education in a friendly, home-like environment in Burnside.
At BestStart Roydvale - a community of guidance and growth.
We pride ourselves on creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for all children and their families. Relationships are at the heart of everything we do. Whānau and family members are always welcome to visit, and we regularly hold family events to strengthen these bonds and share valuable information.
Our centre features two spacious outdoor areas where our teachers and children have collaboratively cultivated vegetable and herb gardens. These gardens not only enhance our midday meals but also help feed our beloved guinea pigs. We are dedicated to accommodating allergies and special dietary needs with our qualified chef who provides balanced, yummy cooked meals and baking ensuring that every child can enjoy the food we provide safely.
We offer a dynamic, child-led programme interspersed with teacher-directed learning. This approach allows our kaiako to meet the individual needs of each child while providing an engaging learning environment. We believe in the importance of children learning to take managed risks. By exploring new and unfamiliar situations, children develop essential skills and a sense of curiosity.
Our centre is a vibrant multicultural community with deep connections to our surrounding land. The rich significance of Roydvale and our cherished cabbage trees is woven into our planning, activities, and community interactions
Our Team
Our centre is proud to have a diverse team with a wealth of experience. In our nursery, our kaiako (teachers) provide warm, nurturing relationships, ensuring each baby feels connected and cared for. Our toddler team extends this warmth while also encouraging safe risk-taking and developmental growth. For our preschoolers, our experienced teachers deliver a robust "Set for School" curriculum, preparing children for their next educational steps through engaging and enriching daily activities.
Across all our classrooms, our kaiako support the development of foundational skills—both physical and cognitive—to ensure children are well-prepared for the next step in their learning journey. We look forward to discussing how our programme can support your child on their path to becoming a successful learner.
