BestStart Rugby Park, where diversity thrives and collaboration shapes young minds!

At BestStart Rugby Park, everything we do is grounded in relationships, community, and a deep commitment to celebrating the uniqueness of every child and their whānau. Our centre is a diverse and vibrant learning community where each child’s identity, culture, and experiences are valued and reflected in our daily practice.

🌿 A Curriculum That Reflects Our Community
Our localised curriculum is something we are incredibly proud of. It is shaped by our tamariki, our whānau, our kaiako, and the community around us. Guided by Te Whāriki, we intentionally create learning experiences that are meaningful, responsive, and grounded in the unique needs and aspirations of our centre.

🤝 Making a Difference Together
Our vision, “Making a difference together,” sits at the heart of our practice. We believe every child and whanau deserves to have a Village  in their corner — a Village who shows up, supports them, and never gives up on them. Through strong, genuine relationships, we create a sense of belonging where tamariki feel safe to explore, grow, and be themselves.
We work closely alongside our whānau, recognising that learning is a shared journey. By collaborating and listening to whānau aspirations, we ensure that each child’s learning pathway is meaningful and connected.

🌱 Growing Confident, Curious Learners
Our ultimate goal is to nurture confident, curious, and resilient learners. We encourage tamariki to lead their own learning, while kaiako actively support and extend their strengths, interests, and capabilities.
Resilience is a core value within our centre — we embrace the idea of trying again, learning through challenges, and supporting each other through both successes and difficult moments.

🌏 Our Priorities in Action
Everything we do is guided by what matters most in our community:
  • Lifelong learning
  • Collaboration
  • Confidence
  • Diversity
  • Whānau involvement
  • Community
These priorities shape how we teach, how we learn, and how we connect. They allow us to respond authentically to each child, ensuring that every tamariki feels valued, supported, and empowered.

❤️ A Place of Belonging
BestStart Rugby Park continues a long tradition of care and community  — a place where families have been welcomed and supported for generations. Today, we continue to honour that legacy by creating a warm, inclusive environment where every child and whānau feels a strong sense of belonging.

We are proud of who we are as a centre — a community of awhi, support, and connection.
