Are your teachers qualified and experienced with infants?

Yes. Qualified early childhood teachers have specialised knowledge of child development, learning and wellbeing, including the unique needs of babies and infants. Ongoing professional learning also helps teachers stay up to date with current early childhood education practice.

Caring for infants requires an understanding of early development, responsive caregiving and the importance of secure, trusting relationships. Experience working with babies helps teachers recognise individual cues, support daily routines and respond to each child's needs with confidence and care.

At BestStart, we aim to maintain a workforce where at least 80% of teachers are qualified early childhood educators. Teachers working with infants receive professional development focused on infant care, development and responsive teaching practices, supported by ongoing training and mentoring.
