Education Outside

At BestStart Mangorei Road everyday is an opportunity, an opportunity to learn, grow and develop. We have so many opportunities available to us in our centre - and we have recently discovered some more in our community.

Every Wednesday we embark on a mission of discovery at a local playground. Who can swing, jump, or climb the fartherest, the longest, the best! The tamariki relished the challenges ahead and their enthusiasm was inspiring! As the tamariki interacted with the new equipment their social skills quickly came into play alongside some healthy competition.

As the children watched each other, they quickly became focused on exploring the equipment, whilst watching, sharing, negotiating and laughing with their friends. Whilst we were at the playground we had the good fortune to run into two of our BestStart friends with their whānau, and we all quickly joined in together, laughing and enjoying the playground. It was lovely to be a part of the joy that filled the playground as the children challenged each other in their quest for playground glory!

At BestStart Mangorei Road we understand the importance of these magical moments. During these moments children develop their physical skills, their social and emotional skills and make precious memories. The playground is more than a playground - it is a blank canvas to explore, a stage for friendships and a platform for growth. As we continue to support our young learners, we will eagerly watch their development and enjoyment, watching them push their boundaries and strive for new achievements.
