March was full of colour, connection, and creativity as we celebrated Holi—embracing joy, culture, and community with our tamariki, whānau, and kaiako.
Our tamariki had so much fun creating toi (art) and peita (paintings), letting their imaginations run wild with every splash of paint.
The room was buzzing with energy as the children expressed their auahatanga (creativity) and embraced the harikoa (joy) of the festival. We also made gulgula, a traditional reka (sweet) treat, which the tamariki thoroughly enjoyed. It was a lovely way to bring everyone together, share something special, and strengthen our whanaungatanga (connections).
To top it all off, on 14th March, we held a Kākahu Tae Rerekē (Colourful Dress-Up Day), where tamariki and kaiako (teachers) wore bright, cheerful outfits to add to the festive spirit. It was wonderful to see everyone embracing the day, bringing an extra sense of Mana Whenua (belonging) to our centre.
Holi at our centre was not only about fun and creativity but also about building connections and embracing ngā ahurea (cultures). It was a beautiful celebration of aroha (love), learning, and unity for our tamariki and whānau—a reminder of the joy that comes from learning, sharing, and being part of a community.
