Learning never stops at BestStart Māngere East. Through workshops, curriculum meetings, and shared reflection, our kaiako develop new skills, strategies, and ideas, ensuring we continually grow as educators to support the learning, wellbeing, and development of our tamariki.
At BestStart Māngere East, learning and growth are at the heart of our team culture. We believe that to truly inspire our tamariki, we must also continue to inspire ourselves through ongoing reflection, collaboration, and professional development.
Our regular workshops and monthly curriculum meetings reflect this commitment. They are not just opportunities to discuss teaching strategies or curriculum updates; they are spaces where we come together as a little family. We share ideas, laugh together, and plan meaningful experiences for our children. These moments remind us of the importance of teamwork, open-mindedness, and continual growth.
Recently, we held a workshop on self-regulation and how we can support children to manage their emotions. We also explored creating spaces to support challenging behaviours in the centre. Both workshops opened our minds to new ideas and strategies to support our tamariki.
Through these shared learning opportunities, we strengthen our teaching practice, explore new approaches, and find fresh inspiration to bring back into our classrooms. At BestStart Māngere East, climbing our own mountains means challenging ourselves, celebrating progress, and always striving to be the best versions of ourselves for our tamariki, their families, and each other.
