At BestStart Te Awamutu, we believe in nurturing the whole child, supporting not just learning and development, but also physical wellbeing.

This week, we were thrilled to welcome Sports Waikato into our centre to lead a fun and engaging active movement session with our tamariki.

The session was full of laughter, movement, and excitement as we explored a range of activities designed to build confidence, coordination, balance, and spatial awareness. Through playful movement, tamariki practiced important physical skills like jumping, crawling, running, and balancing — all while having an absolute blast!

The team from Sports Waikato brought such great energy and knowledge to the session, helping our teachers see new ways to encourage physical development through everyday play. We’re incredibly grateful to Sports Waikato for partnering with us and helping us provide enriching experiences for our children.

We’re looking forward to more movement, more learning, and more opportunities to keep our tamariki active and thriving!
