During the month of May our Koru room tamariki have enjoyed exploring the autumn leaves and colours.

The children have used the fallen leaves to create some collage art by using glue to stick them to their paper.

This was a fantastic way to further develop the childrens fine motor skills while exploring new materials. The Koru room tamariki also enjoyed celebrating Mother's Day. They made some flowers with pom poms, tape and pipe cleaners. The children loved showing their flower art to their families on drop offs. We also made mum a collage card as a Mothers Day keep sake.

During the month of May we have also restarted our local excursions to a music and movement class. The children have loved action songs, dancing and the poi, so these classes are extending on these interets for our tamariki. The children love our walks to music as well, walking past a fire station and seeinf the fire trucks. It's been great to get out into our local community each week. We have developed a whare that encompasses wach childs pepeha.

These pepeha celebrate where the children are from by displaying their flags of the countires they are from, and their whanau are from. This brings a multi cultural aspect to our room and the children love looking at them. The Koru room has had some new children and families start this month and we would like to extend a warm welcome to the Koru room.

We look forward to out June adventures and celebrating Matariki.
