On Tuesday the 27th of August we celebrated our amazing Father's and special people in our lives by holding a “Blokes BBQ”. We were very grateful to one of our Father’s who came and volunteered his time to cook the BBQ for us and did an outstanding job as well.

It's a day to recognize their love, support, and guidance, and to show our appreciation for all that they do. We loved having the opportunity to host and express our gratitude to those who have played such an important role in our lives. The tamariki had been busy leading into the week creating some beautiful artwork and wonderful gifts to give to their dads and special people. It was evident they were so proud of what they had made and excited to present them. It was awesome to see such a great turnout.

It was nice to see everyone enjoying a sausage wrapped in bread with sauce, and having some fun with the planned games provided by Kaiako such as, croquet, colouring in and bean bag toss. As preschoolers, children are constantly learning and growing; it is important to create meaningful experiences that promote bonding and foster positive relationships with special people. The early years of a child’s life are crucial for building strong foundations that will shape their future relationships. It is essential to plan age-appropriate activities that encourage preschoolers to connect with their loved ones more deeply.

At BestStart Opihi, we strive to share creative and fun ideas for Father’s Day activities tailored to preschool-aged tamariki. From hands-on crafts to outdoor adventures, there are many ways we create lasting memories with the tamariki. We certainly made this special day an unforgettable celebration of love, laughter, and lasting connections.
