We rounded off our year with a wonderful and enriching excursion to Butterfly Creek.
Throughout the year, the children have been engaged in learning experiences focused on the weather, the arrival of spring, and the fascinating world of bugs.
This excursion provided an authentic opportunity to extend their knowledge and bring many of these concepts of life. Children were able to make meaningful connections between what they observed in the environment around them.
Our planning over the pass months has supported the development of creativity, fine-motor skills, early scientific thinking and investigative curiosity. The excursion allowed these skill to flourish as the children explored the butterfly house, observed insects up close and asked thoughtful questions about the living creatures they encountered. Their excitment and wonder were evident throughout the day.
We travelled by bus and we were fortunate to have a large group of supportive parents helpers who played an important role in ensuring a smooth and enjoyable outing. The children demonstrated confidence , independence, and respect for the natural world as they moved through each part of the experience.
Overall, our visit to Butterfly Creek was a memorable way to conclude our year of learning offering fun, connection, and valuable real-world learning for all.
