Carnival Fun & Curious Minds at BestStart Everglade

January was bursting with excitement, colour, and discovery at BestStart Everglade Preschool. On Carnival Day (14 January), our centre came alive with bright whakapaipai (decorations) that delighted our tamariki (children).

The laughter was nonstop as children enjoyed carnival favourites such as ring toss, throwing beanbags into boxes, knocking over bottles with a ball, and catching colourful fish. There was plenty of fun and cheering with friends and visitors, but the absolute highlight of the day was enjoying cool, yummy aihikirīmi (ice cream).

Our Science & Nature Day (20 January) was all about curiosity and tūhura (exploration). Our little kaipūtaiao (scientists) loved leaf rubbing with crayons, mixing primary colours, and discovering why some objects sink and float.

Breaking out frozen toys, creating erupting volcanoes, and carefully documenting findings showed wonderful ako (learning) and teamwork. To celebrate their fantastic mahi (work), each child proudly received a tiwhikete pūtaiao (science certificate).

What wonderful days of fun, learning, and smiles shared with our tamariki.

With love,
The BestStart Everglade Preschool Team
