A month full of love and learning! Our tamariki celebrated Mother’s Day with whānau over afternoon tea and embraced the spirit of Pink Shirt Day with pink play, creativity, and kōrero about kindness, friendship, and respect.

Kia ora whānau,
This month, our centre was filled with aroha, laughter, and meaningful learning as we celebrated two special events: Mother’s Day and Pink Shirt Day. These experiences helped our tamariki build deeper connections, express themselves creatively, and learn important values like kindness, respect, and unity.

Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea
To celebrate Mother’s Day, we invited our lovely kura whānau for a cosy afternoon tea. It was a heartwarming moment seeing mums—and some dads too—enjoy treats and special time with their children.

Our tamariki proudly gifted handprint bouquet artworks they created, each one symbolising their love and appreciation. It was a joyful and memorable celebration for everyone.

Pink Shirt Day: Spreading Aroha and Respect
Pink Shirt Day was a beautiful reminder of the power of kindness. Our tamariki came dressed in pink and participated in creative, hands-on explorations.

They made a collaborative heart display using hand-cut shapes and decorated a large pink T-shirt with drawings of friends, family, and nature. Pink-themed play, storytelling, and singing reinforced messages of acceptance and unity.

We talked about standing up against bullying and how we can use kind words and gentle hands every day. The children shared thoughtful ideas and promised to treat others with respect.

We’re so proud of our tamariki for showing empathy, confidence, and teamwork throughout these special celebrations.

Ngā mihi nui,
