BestStart Rototuna had an amazing time celebrating Christmas. The last month of the year sparkled like a Christmas light. We made it extra special for our tamariki by inviting Sam and his animal friends to our centre during the day and celebrating Christmas with our whānau in the evening. Everyone came together to enjoy the festivities.

We had an amazing opportunity to explore visiting animals at our centre. The children were full of excitement as soon as they saw the animals, including goats, a pony, rabbits, chickens, and more. Our tamariki enjoyed feeding and petting the animals. They all gathered to observe and ask questions. The interaction with the animals enhanced their confidence and emotional wellbeing, while also teaching them empathy, care, and responsibility.

The children happily enjoyed riding the pony, which was an amazing experience that allowed them to show respect for the environment and foster a sense of responsibility. The joy on their faces contributed to their emotional wellbeing.

In the evening, we celebrated Christmas with our whānau. All the tamariki enjoyed a special Christmas party. We decorated our indoor and outdoor areas with colourful balloons and set up a photo booth where families could take pictures as a Christmas memory. Our tamariki also performed Christmas songs, and the children enjoyed the bouncy castles, colouring activities, and more.

We shared kai with our whānau, and it was a wonderful experience that brought us together to embrace a sense of community and togetherness. Throughout the event, we were able to build stronger relationships with whānau. The children learned about different ways of celebrating Christmas, bringing various cultures together.

Thank you to everyone who contributed. We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
