Creating a Responsive Learning Environment
The infant and toddler team of teachers have been working hard to awake our environment as the third teacher. The teachers spent time reflecting on the type of environment children need, and the nature of resources provided for them, and how this could define and influence how children engage and learn within our environment.
After reflection a group of passionate teachers gathered on the weekend to unlock our environments potential. Our pedagogy approach was ALL about providing beautiful and calm environments in which children feel safe and secure. Our visual surroundings can have a profound effect on the way children think, feel and act, both consciously and subconsciously. We wanted to create a calm setting with neutral natural tones rather than the an explosion of intense colour.
We want our environment to create beautiful inspirational play spaces for children, to feed their curiosity, creativity and to spark awe and wonder.
