BestStart Manukau takes pride in celebrating all our cultural events. We are blessed that we got the opportunity to celebrate cultural diversity. We celebrated Eid with full enthusiasm as this is a beautiful festival of celebrating with your family and friends. EID is celebrated by Muslim people after a month of prayer, devotion and self-control, Muslims celebrate the accomplishment of their sacred duties during Ramadan with the beginning of Eid al-Fitr, or the Festival of Breaking the Fast. Our BestStart Manukau family is very diverse and we feel that each culture is valued and acknowledged.

Children were in high spirits and were involved in different experiences. They made stars that we put on the wall for Eid decoration. They had fun dancing to Bollywood songs, some children got the henna tattoo and some other got the face painting. We are very thankful to Zara and Zoya’s parents who came dressed up in their cultural outfits shared the significance of this special day and brought sweets from home for all of us. We are also grateful to Cassiel’s parents who shared the sweets and fruit platter with the children.

Once again a big thanks to the parents for collaborating with us and sharing the funds of knowledge of their cultures with us. It was really a delightful and fun experience for all of us.
