At BestStart Remuera, we embraced the vibrant spirit of Eid with a range of creative and collaborative experiences that helped our tamariki learn, connect, and celebrate together in a joyful, inclusive environment.

At BestStart Remuera, we celebrate Eid in April by creating a joyful and inclusive environment where our tamariki can experience the spirit of this special occasion.

Our celebration includes engaging creative activities where children make beautiful decorations, such as crescent moons and stars, using a variety of art materials. These decorations brighten our learning space and bring a festive atmosphere to our centre, making the occasion feel special for everyone.

Music and movement are an exciting part of the celebration. We introduce traditional songs and encourage children to dance, clap, and move to the rhythm, allowing them to express joy and energy in a fun way while developing coordination and confidence.

Dramatic play is another highlight, where children dress up in traditional clothing and engage in imaginative play. This helps them connect with different cultural traditions while enjoying a hands-on learning experience with their peers.

To further immerse the children in the celebration, we create collaborative art projects where they work together to design large Eid-themed displays. This fosters teamwork and a sense of belonging.

We also encourage discussions where children can share their thoughts about celebrations in their own families. These conversations help develop an appreciation for different cultures and traditions.

By celebrating Eid in an engaging and meaningful way, we encourage our preschoolers to appreciate diversity, develop social connections, and understand the importance of kindness and togetherness.
