This term has been an exciting chapter for our centre as we embarked on our ENGAGE journey.
Our Kaiako (teachers) were the first to receive specialised ENGAGE training, learning how to introduce the program in a meaningful and supportive way for our tamariki (children).
After spending time practising, observing, and becoming confident with the different strategies, our team completed a second round of training to deepen their understanding. 💛
Once ENGAGE was well established in our classrooms, we were thrilled to invite our parents and caregivers to an ENGAGE training hui. It was a wonderful turnout, filled with laughter, learning, and lots of hands-on participation. Parents were gifted a selection of ENGAGE activities to try at home, helping to build a strong bridge between home and centre. 🏡
We are incredibly excited to see the positive impact of this collaboration. Many whānau have shared how they are using ENGAGE strategies at home, and we can already see the benefits in our classrooms. From calming breathing exercises, to group and individual activities, to fun freezing dances and more — our tamariki are gaining valuable self-regulation and social skills every day. 🌿
