Friendship Day at BestStart Remuera Road was filled with creativity, teamwork, and aroha. From fingerprint art to cooking soup together, our tamariki celebrated the value of friendship while strengthening bonds within our diverse and supportive community.

At BestStart Remuera Road, we proudly celebrated Friendship Day with a range of heartwarming and engaging activities designed to promote kindness, connection, and a strong sense of belonging.

To mark this special day, our kaiako thoughtfully prepared hands-on experiences that nurtured positive social relationships among our tamariki.

One of the highlights was creating our Friendship Tree. Tamariki were invited to add their colourful fingerprints to a hand-painted tree trunk and branches. Each fingerprint represented a unique individual, symbolising unity and the beauty of diversity within our centre. This activity encouraged collaboration, kindness, and mutual support, helping tamariki feel more connected to their peers.

Leading up to Friendship Day, tamariki also enjoyed making their own handmade friendship heart cards. They decorated their cards with great care and creativity, then gifted them to their best friends or special classmates.

To wrap up our celebration, the children came together to prepare a delicious and nutritious Friendship Soup. With close guidance, they peeled and cut vegetables such as carrots, potatoes, lentils, and squash. This shared cooking experience fostered teamwork, responsibility, and the joy of contributing to something meaningful as a group.

At BestStart Remuera Road, we are committed to providing an inclusive, inspiring, and dynamic learning environment that reflects the richness of Aotearoa’s multicultural community. We look forward to many more shared celebrations and milestones with our tamariki and their whānau.
