Fundraising for Plunket at BestStart Montessori Taradale
Each year during March, we come together and hold our annual fundraising events for Plunket. Every year, our centres organise fun activities and events to support our friends at Plunket and this year was no exception. We raised money for Whānau Āwhina Plunket to support their community initiatives and the wonderful work they do for families across the country.
Our whanau supported our very successful 'Bring and Buy' bake sale with lots of yummy baked goods coming in. The children were keen to sample everything and had to make their decision of what to buy very carefully!
Teaching young children to give back to their communities is a wonderful way to instill values of empathy, compassion, and social responsibility from an early age. Fundraising activities teach children the value of giving back and also empowers them to be active, thoughtful members of their communities.
Encouraging these small acts of kindness from an early age can have a lasting positive impact on their character and outlook on the world. Throughout the year we support several different community initiatives including 'Jammies for June', a food drive for our local food bank, Pink Ribbon Day, and Daffodil Day.
