Jumping June at Our Centre!

At our centre, we had an exciting time participating in the Jumping June initiative as part of our ongoing focus on healthy living and wellbeing. Throughout the month, we explored topics around healthy eating, physical activity, and looking after our bodies and minds.

This aligned perfectly with our centre’s current learning focus, where tamariki have been learning about how to keep their bodies strong and minds calm. Children took part in fun physical activities like jumping, running, dancing, and yoga, helping them understand the importance of moving our bodies every day.

These activities not only supported their gross motor development but also encouraged teamwork and a sense of joy in movement. Alongside this, we engaged in group discussions and storytelling about healthy food choices and how nutritious meals help our bodies grow. Children were also encouraged to reflect on how they feel after eating healthy kai and exercising.

Jumping June was a wonderful opportunity to reinforce key messages around hauora (wellbeing) in a fun and engaging way. We are proud of our tamariki for participating with such enthusiasm and for showing curiosity and awareness about looking after their health.

Ka pai, tamariki mā!
