Parental involvement plays a significant role in our children's learning and development. To encourage this, we have started inviting parents to join our activities and mat time this year. Today, we were grateful to have one of our parents, John, here to teach our children how to make origami. All the children showed great interest and were highly engaged in the activity. It was a fun learning experience for both teachers and children.

Through this wonderful experience, our children not only broadened their understanding of another culture but also practiced their fine motor skills. Literacy and numeracy are also key areas of focus at our kindy. To better support our children's learning and development, we have sought feedback from schools on how to best prepare our children for school.

Several school principals and teachers recommended incorporating phonics at kindy and at home, as this would greatly benefit the children in their preparation for school. Following this advice, our teaching team is starting with the letter 'A' and 'a' this week. At the same time, we will continue focusing on practicing counting numbers 1-10 in different languages.

Most of our 4-year-olds have made excellent progress in their literacy and numeracy learning, and we, as their teachers, feel incredibly proud of them.
