Our under twos room was filled with love, laughter, and beautiful little moments as we celebrated Valentine’s Day together.
Our tamariki had a wonderful celebration, enjoying a range of sensory and creative experiences that supported their learning and development in meaningful ways.
One of the highlights of the day was our special flower-making activity. We created flowers using tied ziplock bags filled with water, shaping them into delicate flower petals. This hands-on experience was not only visually exciting for the tamariki, but it also supported their sensory exploration. They squeezed, pressed, and observed the water inside the bags, strengthening their fine motor skills and curiosity about cause and effect. It was lovely to see their focused expressions and hear their delighted giggles as they explored.
We also enjoyed a handprint stamping activity, which was a big hit! Each tamaiti created their own unique handprint artwork. These special keepsakes were gifted to our parents at pick-up time, and the smiles on their faces said it all. Parents were so happy and touched to receive the little artworks made by their children. It was a beautiful way to strengthen the connection between home and our learning environment.
Overall, our Valentine’s celebration was filled with joy, creativity, and meaningful learning moments. It was heartwarming to see our tamariki engaged, confident, and proud of their creations. Days like this remind us how special these early experiences are—for both our children and their whānau. 💕
