In our day to day rituals, tamariki and their intellectual, social, cultural, physical, emotional and spiritual learning is interwoven across all their experiences. Family, whānau and community – a child's family, whānau and community are recognised as part of the learning experience.

Through our regular engagement within our community supports children's social and emotional development, as well as their understanding of the world around them. A strong community gives children access to new experiences and opportunities, which broadens their horizons and builds their confidence.

In our preschool room, routines are an impactful and integral part of our teaching and learning process as it is a way teachers engage in and develop routines influences how children feel, supports smooth transitions, and helps give children a sense of ownership of the daily programme for example our letter of the week ritual, that has been embedded very strong essence of learning as we can see our whanau engaged in this process as well. We live our vision in our day to day rituals by embracing each culture and learning about it.

This past week, it was all about celebrating "Tongan language week". Children will feel comfortable and become confident learners if they see their cultures 'living with them'. When children experience how to be sensitive and responsive to other cultures, they will create a more harmonious living environment for others and for themselves.
