On Friday 29th May, we participated in the Pink Shirt Day Appeal. Taking part in Pink Shirt Day meant that Styx Mill became a part of a powerful movement to spread Aroha and kindness to help end bullying. All of our kaiako and tamariki came dressed in pink and had a day full of activities with friends to spread kindness.

We were lucky enough to have one of our gorgeous whanau surprise us by bringing in some homemade mini pink cupcakes, topped with sprinkles to share with the classroom - these were a huge hit and absolutely delicious. We also had shared donuts with the Kaiako in our staff room which was a lovely treat for a Friday. Each of the classrooms had its own age-appropriate activities planned which included some art activities, to explore various art mediums, and sensory activities for our Nursery Pepi.

We promote friendships and kindness here at Styx Mill so the idea of participating in this special day was one that we hold close to our hearts. Our tamariki are all so supportive of each other and always ensure that they keep their friends safe and well looked after.
