Here at BestStart Greerton, relationships are at the heart of all that we do. It starts from the minute families walk through our door for a visit when we welcome them with open arms and hearts.
We listen to our parents and value their input into their children's learning, after all, they know their child best!
In the infants room this is especially important as it takes a huge amount of trust for parents to leave their precious taonga with us. For some of our tamariki, they have never been away from their parents before so for them, knowing that they will be safe, nurtured and loved as if they were our own children helps them to feel safe and secure.
There is a whakatauki that states, 'Poipoia te kakano kia puawai,' translated this means nuture the seed and it will blossom. This whakatauki directly speaks of how we value and respect our tamariki, believing that it is our role as kaiako to ensure our little 'seedlings' are planted in a garden of love and nurtured in a rich, warm and welcoming environment so that they can develop at a pace that is right for each individual child and blossom as unique beings secure in their place and growing to their full potential.
