Our current learning focus around

Our tamariki are experiencing an environment where their health is promoted, their emotional wellbeing nurtured, and they are kept safe from harm.

This learning focus aligns with our parents’ aspirations and learning goals for their tamariki, as they develop self-care, self-help skills, and independence in toileting through daily routines in the Rimu Room’s learning environment.

Tamariki learn through our 16 areas of play, which support their interests and strengthen their independence and social skills as they grow. Teachers/kaiako support our tamariki using a range of strategies, including inviting, encouragement, providing feedback, scaffolding, peer support, and fostering tuakana-teina relationships.
