Set for School at Halswell Road
Here in Prep room at Halswell Road we have an intentional set for school programme to ensure tamariki and whānau are ready for their exciting new journey at school. For us we believe in supporting tamariki learning and development in a holistic way therefore we focus on many areas of development from gross and fine motor skills to independence to pack and unpack their own bags, recognise their own name, be able to put on and take off jersey's and manipulate the zips, share their voice in small and large groups, ask for help, work together with their peers, wait for turns, persevere, problem solve, be creative, grow their self confidence to explore, try and become involved, emotional regulation and so much more!
Kaiako plan and implement intentional large group mat times as well as smaller group experiences which relate to tamariki learning goals or group plans to ensure tamariki engage in a variety of meaningful acitivities which promote their learning and development. We have received wonderful whānau feedback from those who have started school about how ready their child was for the next step and we look forward to supporting you and your whānau to become set for school.
