Dear Whānau, We are excited to share an update on our Set4School journey!
Over the past few weeks, we have refreshed our learning walls and strengthened our relationships with the surrounding kura tuatahi (primary schools).
Recently, the Deputy Principal from Everglade Primary School met with our BestStart Everglade Preschool whānau to kōrero (talk) about what to expect when transitioning to primary school. '
It was a supportive and insightful session, offering guidance on key skills our tamariki can begin developing as they prepare for their next big step. 😊 Before meeting with parents, the Deputy Principal also visited our kaiako (teachers) for a staff hui, where we discussed ways we can further foster independence, confidence, and readiness for big school. These connections are incredibly valuable and help us ensure that our teaching aligns with the expectations of the primary school environment. 🌿
This term, we’ve had two wonderful visits to Everglade Primary School. Our tamariki enjoyed exploring the classrooms, meeting kaiako, and experiencing a glimpse of what their new learning spaces will look like. 🏫
We will continue planning rich, purposeful activities that nurture school readiness and support every child’s transition with mana and aroha (love). ✨
With aroha, The BestStart Everglade Preschool Team 💛
