In our toddler room (ages 2 to 3½), stories pop up like sunshine - anywhere and everywhere!
Whether it’s a cozy corner inside, a sunny spot on the deck, or a spontaneous group cuddle with a book, our tamariki know that storytime is always just a page away.
This flexibility allows tamariki to engage with stories in ways that feel natural and joyful, fostering a love for books and storytelling from an early age. We read with friends, with kaiako, or solo - whenever the moment feels right.
Storytelling is woven into our daily rhythm, from big mat time tales to quiet moments during transitions. It’s part of what makes our space feel warm, familiar, and full of wonder.
What’s the Magic in Storytime?
- Words come alive as tamariki soak up new sounds and vocab.
- Friendships grow through shared giggles and group reading.
- Imagination flies with every character and adventure.
- Culture shines through waiata, purākau, and local tales.
- Routines settle little minds with familiar rhythms and rituals.
Storytime helps our toddlers grow into curious, confident explorers! . In every story we tell, we’re nurturing minds, hearts, and relationships. Whether it’s a well-loved picture book or a spontaneous tale shared under the sun, storytelling is a powerful tool for connection, culture, and creating joyful learning moments every day.
