What is Supersquad? Supersquad is a celebration of each child’s uniqueness, offering a seamless transition to school. Every child who joins receives a super cape and certificate, making them feel like a superhero as they begin their educational journey.
Learning Through Play: We believe children learn best through play, so Supersquad offers a variety of activities across 16 areas of development, designed to engage and nurture each child’s individual interests. These activities focus on creativity, social skills, and cognitive growth, while also reflecting the aspirations of their whanau (family).
Building Connections with Leamington Primary School: A key element of Supersquad is the close partnership with Leamington Primary School. Our tamariki visit the school each term to familiarize themselves with school life, while the school visits us every second week. These regular interactions ensure a smooth and emotionally prepared transition for each child. Hands-On Learning: Developing Key Skills We support literacy and numeracy through hands-on activities like baking (exploring science, math, and literacy) and phonics (learning about letters and sounds in fun, engaging ways). Tamariki also develop self-care skills, as well as fine and large motor skills, which are crucial for school readiness.
Positive Feedback from Families and Kura: The success of Supersquad is reflected in the positive feedback we receive from both the school and whanau. Parents are amazed at their children's progress and how well-prepared they are for school. Leamington Primary consistently praises our program for helping children adapt to school life with confidence.
