At BestStart Motutaiko, we are a partnership in discovery!
Nau mai haere mai to BestStart Motutaiko Street. Our excellent team of friendly, caring, dedicated and knowledgeable teachers are committed to working in partnerhip with your whanau, children and our local Taupō community.
Working in partnership with our local community gives our children the opportunity to make community connections, understand their place in the community and know the Tuwharetoa land around them. One of our favourite things is to get out and about and be busy, we offer a range of external experiences:
Monthly visits from Cath Oldfield from Kids Bike Taupo to support children’s bike riding skills
Planned school visits for our 4-year olds to zoned primary schools
Yearly performances in the Tuwharetoa Kapa Haka Festival (Taiopenga Tuwharetoa).
Regular visits from our community services such as the fire brigade, ambulance, police and Ruben the road safety bear.
We recognise that you and your whanau are your child’s first teachers and we create open and positive relationships with families to support each child’s learning and development. Parental involvement is greatly encouraged, we value our partnerships with whanau, both within the centre and on our online learning platform Storypark. When we work and learn together our children feel supported, confident, and ready to achieve.
Through collaboration with families, observations, and communication we create individual learning goals that are tailored to support each child's developing interests and skills. Children have an individual portfolio to showcase their how they learn through play experiences.
