How is learning different at BestStart compared to other early childhood centres?
Learning at BestStart combines play-based learning, caring relationships and intentional teaching to support each child's individual development. Our approach recognises that children learn in different ways and at different rates, so learning experiences are tailored to their interests, strengths and stage of development.
All licensed early childhood services in New Zealand follow Te Whāriki, the national early childhood curriculum. Each service brings the curriculum to life in its own way, creating learning experiences that reflect the children, families and communities they serve.
At BestStart, our teachers build learning around children's interests, relationships and everyday experiences. Our centres are also supported by a wider network of education specialists who help ensure teaching reflects current research and best practice. Combined with our focus on responsive care, meaningful play and strong partnerships with families, this creates personalised learning experiences that support every child to grow with confidence.
